It's My Life

Psalm 24:1 -The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof; the world and they that dwell therein.

How many times have you heard, or even said to yourself, "It's my life; I'll do what I want with it"? That is a very common phrase and usually it is used as a defence, or to cover up sin. When the bible clearly says that "The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof; the world and they that dwell therein," it means that all of us belong to God, whether we serve him or not. We belong to God. Colour, social status, neighbourhood, none of that mattered when God sent his only begotten son, Jesus. God did not, nor will he ever, put any condition on receiving salvation through Jesus Christ.

Our Father looked down and saw that we needed a saviour, and because of his great love, he sent Jesus. Just think; his only begotten son to take on the weight of sin for the whole world. The bible tells us that because Jesus came we now have the ministry of reconciliation. It all started with love. Remember, by one man (Adam) came death; by another man (Jesus) came life. Choose life today. Jesus is the light, the way out of darkness. "Darkness?" you say. Yes, darkness. Until Jesus came into our lives, we were spiritually blind.

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I'm found,
Was blind, but now I see.

I am so grateful for the light; I no longer have to grope around in life, because now I can see clearly. And it is only because of Jesus. Jesus makes the difference. "Bless the Lord O my soul and all that is within me, bless his holy name, and forget not all his benefits." (Psalm 103:1-2) David said it well in Psalm 116:1-2: "I love the Lord, because he heard my cry and inclined his ear to my supplications; therefore I will serve him all my life". We have no life unless God is in it.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, restore us, strengthen us, for we trust only in you. Renew our minds daily, that we will not conform to the world but be transformed by your word. Everything we hope for is found in you, God. It is I, yet not I, but Christ that lives on the inside. God, we pray that someone who doesn't know you will come to know you. We pray your peace on all men, women, boys and girls. In Jesus' name. Amen.
