We appreciate you writings in the “Presbyterian Daily Devotional”. Your messages make a lot of readers start their day on the right foot. It is not easy to function well when one is in pain for sure and we have to appreciate the help we feel with God in our life as he helps us take each step along the way. Thank you for helping me keep things in perspective.
Both of us have had our share of sickness this year however our bodies are getting worn out as we reach the end of life here on earth.

Good morning, How in the world did you know that your devotional is just what I need today, at least one of your thoughts.
I will be seeing my doctor, and am I worried about what he will have to tell me the outcome of the X-rays? If what he has to tell me is what I don’t want to hear, how will I react? Oh, my, did I forget something, the most important part of this scenario? My dear Lord who I love with all heart has all of the answers and I have to trust Him to give me the right answers if decisions have to be made.
Keep those devotions coming as they always have something special for me.

Good Morning, dear Iris,
We don’t know each other but I have read your devotionals for many years and am happy to see you back as a regular contributor.
Thank you for the words the Lord gave you to write this morning. As usual, God places someone in my path with the “right” thing to say just when I need it most. I am starting the day concerned about my husband who is on a work course this week who called last night to say he is struggling. My immediate response was to jump to worry mode. Then my husband said “please pray for me”. We prayed together for God to give him confidence and the ability to complete the tasks ahead. But again this morning I went to the part of me that worries. Thankfully the PresbyCan devotional is my first stop of the day and your words reminded me of God’s faithfulness. I am also reminded that we please and honor Him by putting our trust in Him and surrendering all our worries and joys to him. So I pray with joyous expectation that no matter what, God’s plan for my husband will be fulfilled – recognizing and acknowledging all He has done for us in the past as we try to serve Him faithfully.
Again, thank you for listening to the voice that guides us and sharing your thoughts and words to encourage and uplift.

Dear Iris,
Thanks for this devotional. I am trying to be a mentor for several young persons in my life and sometimes feel very sad about the choices they make, However, overall, any involvement I have had seems to be appreciated, so I just try to do the best I can to guide them to ways that will help them to do what they can to make our world a better place. When I get disappointments and feel sad, I remember the hymn, “Count your blessings.” I feel it has a profound and helpful message and boosts our faith. Your assurances today were helpful. Nothing matters except that anything we do be dedicated to pleasing God and praying that what we do is in accordance with His will. In the Lord’s prayer, I earnestly express the lines,”Thy Kingdom  come. Thy will be done.”  Your devotional today helped me to think more about that. I am sure you have heard the saying,”Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.” After reading your devotional, I was thinking. “Thy will be done on earth.”
 — and let it begin with me. Thanks for taking the time and effort to write this devotional. It cheered up my day and made me feel more optimistic about the future. Blessings.

I read your devotional today. I woke up thinking that “we need to be pleasers of God rather than man.” I often find anxiety captures me when I do all to make others happy. Here’s where I have fallen away from doing God’s will. It is a comfort reading your devotional which helps me understand how to please God.
