Not too long ago, I joined a weight loss class. I finally accepted the fact that I needed help, and that I could not lose the weight on my own. To date, I've lost thirty-seven pounds, and I have gone down two dress sizes. I have also lost weight from my fingers, especially my ring finger. Even with that in mind, I also lost the silver turquoise ring which my mother gave me. This was the second time that I had lost that ring.
A few years ago, when my father was still alive, I drove his car back and forth to chemo treatments. It was wintertime. When we returned, I parked his car in the garage, and mom, dad, and I went inside their house. It was not until I took off my gloves that I noticed that my ring wasn't on my finger. I was frantic. I ran outside into the garage and searched through the car and surrounding area, but couldn't find it. I had even prayed, but no ring. I was devastated. Then one day, as I was getting the car out of the garage to take my dad to another one of his treatments, I saw it. There it lay on the shelf! How it got there I will never know, but there it was. My short, quick prayer was answered, not right away, but a little later.
So now, I was searching again. I should have had it re-sized. I should not have worn it, were the thoughts that I was battling. I also wondered if I should ask God to help me find it again. It's only a ring, I thought. There are more important things for God to answer. But I did pray. And then, for some strange reason, I checked a bag in the closet where I collect empty egg cartons and milk bags for the church. I reached down into the bag, and there it was: the ring that my mother gave me. I was overwhelmed with emotion.
God again answered my short little prayer.
Matthew 7:7 – Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (NASB)
Matthew 21:22 – And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. (NASB)
Are you concerned about something that is going on in your life right now? Have you misplaced or lost something? Ask God to help you.
Prayer: Dear God, we thank You that we are able to reach out to You in our distress. Thank You for loving us so much that You would even help us to find the little things in life which are important to us. Sometimes, You answer right away, and sometimes, You don't. Help us to trust in You, whatever the outcome. Amen.

I too have had a similar experience with a special FISH bracelet that my Mom bought me before she passed away…2 times I’ve found it when one of the links broke (after a prayer).

Thanks for reminding me that God is very good at finding lost items.
I have prayed for help many times and He comes through. The Catholics have a saint for this kind of thing and maybe the Lord does have helpers. When we are upset and worried it blocks what I call Divine intuition and that is why we sometimes don ‘t find it right away. And then often our hand is guided I had a friend who lost a wedding ring and when I arrived the couple were barely speaking to one another over it.
I prayed and was guided to lift a flower pot and there it was!
Isn’t it wonderful how God will answer our prayers as we search for something. I am now 87 and I need to do this a lot. He just seems to guide you to it. Now, I also even ask what and where I should go with my activities. About 40 years ago when I was a CNA in the hospital. I had a patient who had come over from the nursing home [it was called that at that time] and she would repeat over and over. “Oh, Lord where to go and what to do?” and I would tell she had to be quiet and listen to God’s answer and she would just repeated it. Our daughter worked at the nursing home and she would do it over there also. This is now our little phrase when we are confused.
My friend lost her bracelet while we were out for lunch. I had picked her up so we looked all through my car, she called the hall where we’d been, and my husband even went back to the parking lot that evening with a flashlight. Next morning my friend sat by her window praying about it, telling God she realized it was just a material thing and she would accept it was gone, if she had to. Just then she saw something twinkle in the snow in her driveway. She first thought it was just a light reflection, still she felt she had to go outside and look. Sure enough, there lay her bracelet! It must have fallen off as she got in or out of my car. Last week I heard of someone losing his credit card. After praying, he was drawn to look in the recycling box, of all places – and there it was! I’m sure you’ll hear dozens of stories like this now! God is so good to us!
