Listen while you read: "Infant Holy Infant Lowly"1 (Lyrics)

Galatians 4:3-7 – So also, when we were children, we were in slavery under the basic principles of the world. But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman … that we might receive the full rights as sons. Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. (NIV)

I'm recovering from surgery. In a local big-box store is a Customers' Helper. I give her a list and as I wait with my walker, she brings things for my approval. She also takes the cartload to my car while I drag behind.

Today, I opened the front door of my car to set in a few things; then I opened the trunk lid for the cartload. I set my purse just inside the trunk while helping the Helper a bit. Then I rested in the front seat while she finished the unloading, clunked the trunk lid down, and went back into the store.

After deciding what else I had to do before going home, I reached for my purse — to which my car keys were attached. Oh no! It was locked in the trunk. My mind raced to locksmith expense, while a man I had not known before returned to the car beside mine. I bewailed to him what had happened. He said, "I used to have a car just like yours, and it had a button in the glove compartment." He reached in, touched the button, and the trunk lid popped open! "Thank you, thank you!"

God sent this right man at just the right moment. When entrapped in my foolish error, this son of His responded to my plight as if I were his beloved daughter.

God sent His Right Man, His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world when the right time had fully come. When we were in slavery amid the sinful principles of the world, God sent His Son to reach into our hearts and free us to respond to Him as our beloved relative. "Thank You, thank You!"

Prayer: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Thank You for making all things work together for good. Thank You for providing for us for time and for eternity. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
