God Answers Prayers

Listen to this devotional:

Luke 11:9 – So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (NIV)

After getting renovation quotes for a new kitchen, which were too much, I called my son. He told my husband and me that he would do it for us. He said there was a second-hand store which supplied kitchen cabinets, doors, and other kitchen products. These were slightly damaged but had never been used, and were a quarter of the cost of new ones. All we would need would be to buy a few new pieces from the renovation store, which stocked the same brand. I prayed about it, and then, trusting God, I asked Jesus to help us to design the kitchen. I put my worries in His hands. We were fortunate to get some oak trim for the top and bottom of the cabinets. My son and a friend installed the cabinets. We cannot tell the new pieces from the second-hand ones. When our friends come over to visit, they ask us if we had the kitchen custom-made. Then I proceed to tell them how God answered my prayers, and how I thank Him every day.

God is so great! He loves to answer our prayers, whether large or small. He loves us dearly and wants to provide all our needs for us. All we have to do is ask Him, and believe that He will.

Matthew 7:11 – If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him! (NIV)

Prayer: Dear God, help us not to hesitate to call upon You for all our needs, whether large or small. Give us faith to know that when we ask, You will provide what is good for us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
