Continuing To Grow In Faith

Mark 4:40 – He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"

When we were kids and all living at home, we use to have the greatest summer vacations of anyone I knew. I don't know how Mom and Dad decided where we would go. However we always knew it would be exciting. They would prepare everything for the trip; all we had to do was hop in the station wagon and behave. Not really knowing where we were going to go, we had to put our faith in Dad. We would set off on a new adventure each day, never questioning where we were going. I'm sure occasionally we would ask, "Are we there yet?" But other then that we sat back and felt safe with Dad's choices of places he took us. Every day, every trip, every year, the trips got better. We were shown the beauty of the Canadian Rockies, the thrill of Expo '67, the wonderful East coast, and everything in between. Never once did we question his love for sharing all of this with us.

If we put our faith in God and follow Him, He will lead us on a most interesting life tour. We just have to learn how to hear Him, listen to Him and to follow Him. As we grow in our faith He will take us on bigger and more exciting journeys.

Prayer: Dear Lord, we thank you for this beautiful earth which you placed us on. We pray you will guide us down the right roads and to appreciate all that you have given us. We pray that we will not be afraid to open our ears to your word and that our faith will grow in You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
